In a letter to the college’s master, he explained that many of his Jewish relatives were murdered in the Holocaust, while his father and uncle fought in the Army against the Nazis. He warned that taking funds from the “most infamous fascist dynasty in the English-speaking world” will be a “disaster” for the college. In June, he wrote to all the fellows on the college’s governing body, imploring them to vote against it. Prof Goldman explained how he had spent the past five months attempting to persuade St Peter’s College to refuse the £5 million Mosley donation - writing to its Master, as well as the university’s vice-chancellor, urging them to reconsider.
